In a surprise move, Bread & Butter announced it was abandoning the popular (and sunny!) location of Barcelona to return to it's "hometown" Berlin (although strictly speaking Bread & Butter's hometown should be Koln where the show first started with an edited selection of directional brands) perhaps in an attempt to reinvigorate the concept following a downturn in visitor numbers at the last Barcelona edition. The move to the former airport at Tempelhof has been broadly welcomed by multiples looking to schmooze with large brands.
Be warned the show is large and can not be covered with a flying visit. Make sure to take pit-stops between halls so as not to get burnt out when hunting out potential new brands (but expect a lot fewer new brands to debut at this megashow than at previous season: the new minimums imposed on stand sizes at the new location means all but the largest players can afford to take part).
The largest European streetwear and denim event still draws a vast array of mens and womenswear brands, streetwear, casualwear and denim. The size of the event can be a drawback when trying to do business over only 3 days, although this may not be an issue for future editions as the number of exhibitors has reduced to mainly concentrate on large global brands.
